| Welcome to
web site of the City of Botany Bay, a City unique in the greater Sydney
metropolitan area.
With a history now spanning three centuries and with a resident population
representative of Australia as a whole, the City of Botany Bay has retained
and grown its strong local community spirit and never allowed itself to
be overshadowed by our neighbours.
While we may be part of the Sydney metropolitan area, our residents are
proud to be able to say that they come from the City of Botany Bay.
Via this web site, you are able to access information on all the services
and activities this City provides its residents and those with whom we
do business.
Your can browse through our history, see how our City is governed and
get details of those elected to serve the local community.
There's also a full community directory on services we provide, from
the very young to our senior citizens.
Our libraries, parks and gardens, sporting fields, the Botany Big Splash
and all Council's departments are listed in the pages you can access on
this site. There's also provision for feedback, because we want to hear
your opinions.
You can view all the business papers of Council and Committee meetings
and, via our innovative WEBCAST you can see and hear our Council and Committee
meetings.
In our State of the Environment report, you will be able to appreciate
both our Council's concern for protection of our local environment and
the actions we take to ensure that protection.
You will be able to view our plans of how the City will be developed
in the coming years - through our Regional and Local Environmental Plans
and the special plans we have for areas such as the Mascot Station Precinct.
This is a dynamic City and one that looks forward to a firm, prosperous
and secure future.
Here, we take the best of the past, enforce strict environmental and
planning policies, and provide a level of service that our residents not
only expect but which enhances their lives. These aspirations underpin
Council's policies and planning strategies to ensure that all our residents
remain proud to be associated with the City of Botany Bay.
