Mayor

Ben Keneally

Mayor Keneally was elected on September 8 2012.

He is a successful businessman with an Economics and Law Degree from Sydney University.  He has a strong back ground in public policy working with many Government Departments where he led a number of projects dealing with issues such as public transport.  He brings skills learnt from both the private and public sector to the role as Mayor and he sees good visionary policy and government administration as the key to delivering social justice and the opportunity to build a good life for the whole community.

Cr George Glinatsis

Deputy Mayor

Ward 1

An auditor, Cr Glinatsis was first elected to Council in 1991. He has worked with the Mayor and other Councillors to make the City of Botany Bay debt free and takes a close interest in all financial matters.

Cr Brian Troy

Ward 2

First elected in 1987, Cr Troy, continues to pursue his interests in anti-pollution and environmental issues.

Cr Christina Curry

Ward 3

Councillor Curry was elected on September 8 2012

She is the mother of two school age children who has lived her whole life in the local community. She is currently a lecturer in Health & Physical Education at the University of Western Sydney.  She previously taught at two local High Schools. She has been President of a local Primary school P&C and is aware of the basic services people want in their local communities. As a teacher her areas of interest are expanding and improving services provided for youth and opportunities for physical activity for all ages.

Cr Stan Kondilios

Ward 4

Elected in 1995, Cr Kondilios brings his training and experience as a solicitor, practicing mainly in environmental and planning fields, to Council as well as his interest in youth and ethnic affairs.

Cr Mark Castle

Ward 6

Cr Castle has been a solicitor specialising in workers rights for over 10 years and hopes to use his experience to best represent the citizens of Botany Bay. Cr Castle has lived in the City of Botany Bay all his life and has a particular interest in environmental issues including reducing aircraft noise and curbing the expansion of Port Botany.
