Engineering
Engineering Services control the administration of Council roads in the municipality, with the exception of the Roads and Maritime Services' state road network.
Application must be made to Council to dig up or use any section of their roads, which includes the footpath, nature strip and roadway.
In addition, Engineering Services deal with all traffic problems relating to motor vehicles, including traffic management, bicycle routes, road safety, parking areas and transportation issues.
They also control all matters, including fees. for the use of Council areas for pipelines, telecommunications and filming.
The majority of the stormwater system for the city is also under the control of Engineering Services, along with the heavy vehicular fleet and engineering design works.
Engineering Services report to Council through the Local Traffic Committee, the Public Works Committee and the Traffic Advisory Committee.
