Council Committee Meetings

Six Standing Committees of which the Mayor is Chairperson, support council. In the Mayor's absence the Vice Chairperson takes the chair. There are also 13 sub-committees and liaison positions.

The Standing Committees are:

• Community Services Committee
• Health and Environment Committee
• Library Committee
• Parks, Landscaping and Recreation Committee
• Development Committee
• Public Works Committee

Council also appoints a liaison person for each of the following committees or organisations:

• Traffic Committee
• Cooks River & Environs, Section 521 Committee
• Multicultural Community Advisory Committee
• Meals-on-Wheels Committee
• Botany Business Enterprise Centre
• Sydney Coastal Councils Committee
• Botany District Band Liaison Officer
• Senior Citizens Advisory Committee

When and where does Council meet?

The City of Botany Bay Council meets every month in the Council Chambers in Botany Town Hall, Corner Edward Street and Botany Road, Botany. Council Meetings are open to the public and are broadcast live here on our website.

Council standing committees which deal with matters before they are approved by Council meets in the Committee Rooms at Botany Town Hall. Those meetings are also open to the public and broadcast live here on our website. It is at Standing Committees where you can voice your opinions on matters that are on the agenda such as development applications.

All meetings are held in the Committee Rooms, Botany Town Hall, Corner Edward Street and Botany Road, Botany. The Committees can be held either in the morning at 7.00 a.m. or the evening at 6.30 p.m.
