PREMISES:        639 Gardeners Road, Mascot

PROPOSAL:       Development Application for the construction of a three storey plus mezzanine and roof level commercial building for use as an internet exchange centre, and associated car parking and landscaping.  Application to be reported to the Joint Regional Planning Panel for determination.

The City of Botany Bay is in receipt of a Development Application seeking consent for the construction of a three storey plus mezzanine and roof level commercial building for use as an internet exchange centre, and associated car parking & landscaping at 639 Gardeners Road, Mascot

The application is required to be reported to the Joint Regional Planning Panel for determination pursuant to clause 13B(1)(a) of the State Environmental Planning Policy (Major Development) 2005 as the capital investment value exceeds $10 million.

The development is also defined as integrated development under the provisions of Section 91 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979. Accordingly, the development requires the approval of the Department of Water and Energy under the Water Management Act 2000 as the proposal may transect the watertable and require (temporary) dewatering.

Information and plans relating to the proposal will be on public exhibition for a minimum period of (30) days from 6 October 2009 to 6 November 2009, at the Customer Services Counter, City of Botany Bay Council Offices, 141 Coward Street, Mascot, between the hours of 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday (except public holidays).

Any time during the aforementioned period of 30 days any person may make a submission in writing to Council in relation to the proposed development. Council’s Reference Number should be quoted in any enquires and/or correspondence and any person objecting to the proposal should state the land they own or occupy and the reasons for their objections.

HOW TO MAKE A SUBMISSION

The Development Application will be on public exhibition from Tuesday 6th October 2009 to Friday 6th November 2009 inclusive.

The Plans and Documents can also be viewed at the Customer Service Counter, Council Chambers, 141-143 Coward Street, Mascot, between the hours of 8.30 am and 4.30 p.m., Monday to Friday (public holidays excluded).

Any interested party may make a submission to Council. Submissions will be received until 4.30 p.m on Friday the 6hth of November 2009.
