Stormwater & Drains
IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY CALL 000
The Botany Bay City Council works with Sydney Water and NSW Roads & Maritime Services to manage the drainage infrastructure in our City. The City is approximately 2,675 hectares and home to approximately 714 hectares of waterways.
Every year, the Botany Bay City Council maintains and improves the stormwater and drainage infrastructure in the City by:
- clearing of pits and pipes
- reconstructing or relining ageing pipes and pits
- constructing new drainage infrastructure to increase capacity
- constructing and maintaining pollution control devices
Botany Bay City Council is progressively studying all catchments within the local government area to define the cause and nature of flooding and develop flood mitigation and risk management plans. Find out more about the work that Council is doing to manage the risk of flooding.
