Before you start construction you will need a construction certificate, appoint a Principal Certifying Authority and provide two business days notice to Council.
If things change after you have Development Consent for a proposed development, you can seek an amendment but it can only be modified if the proposed development remains “substantially” the same.
A complaint to the Council or the private Principal Certifying Authority may be made if there are concerns that construction is not being undertaken with the Development Consent.
Demolition, excavation and construction hours are normally restricted to 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday (other than public holidays) and between 8am and 4pm on Saturdays.
It is an offence to carry out development without the required development consent or to carry out development or building work that is not in accordance with the consent.
