Children's Library Services

Library reading
Our Libraries offer a variety of services and programs for children. These programs cater for babies to school aged children. 

We have a large selection of children’s books, magazines, graphic novels, movies and music to borrow.

We also have a program of events to suit all ages, including:

  • Rhyme time (ideal for babies and toddlers)
    Friday from 10.30am - 11.00am at the Eastgardens Library (during school term)
    Thursdays 10.00am - 10.30am at Mascot Library (during school term)
  • Story time (ideal for pre-schoolers)
    Tuesdays from 11.00am - 11.45am at the Eastgardens Library (during school term)
    Thursdays from 11.00am - 11.45am at Mascot Library (during school term)
  • Toy time (pre-schoolers)
    Friday from 11.00am - 12.00am at the Eastgardens Library (during school term)
  • School holiday programmes
    A program of stories, film/video screenings and handcrafts is held during each school holiday break for primary school children. Bookings are essential.
  • Children's Book Club
    This program for primary school children extends their enjoyment of reading and literature. Meetings take place at Eastgardens Library on Tuesday afternoons from 3.45pm to 4.45pm on different dates during school term. Bookings are essential.
  • Library Tours
    Library tours for school students attending local schools are welcome. Bookings are essential.
