The City of Botany Bay is a proud to support local volunteers. We value the important role volunteers play in fostering a strong sense of community. Volunteering also provides people with an opportunity to make new friends, utilise their existing skills, learn new skills or help someone in need.

There are a number of great opportunities for unpaid work in either programs run by Council or by local organisations.

Meals on Wheels

Our volunteers assist in delivering meals to those who are unable to or find it difficult to prepare a meal for themselves. Volunteers work in pairs delivering meals to client’s home on weekdays from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Volunteer positions include drivers and runners.

All Meals on Wheels volunteers are required to undertake a criminal history check through the NSW Police. Volunteer drivers need to own or have access to a vehicle and hold a current NSW driver’s licence. Volunteer drivers receive a modest payment to assist with defraying the cost of vehicle expenses.

If you would like further information about volunteering with our Meals on Wheels Service contact our Aged and Disability Services Coordinator on 02 9669 4662 or email council@botanybay.nsw.gov.au
