It's that time of year when Council, once again, provides our residents with the chance to apply for our annual Nature Strip Rebate. All applications must be received by no later than 4.30pm on Friday 27 May 2016.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
  1. The Nature Strip Rebate is open to residents of the City of Botany Bay Local Government Area.
  2. You must re-apply each year to be considered for the rebate.
  3. The application is for the year period prior to the closing date. The applicant must have maintained the nature strip for 1 year prior to the closing date on this form.
  4. All residents who care for the nature strip in front of, or to the side of their property, are eligible for the City of Botany Bay Council’s Nature Strip Rebate, provided they pay the Sydney Water water rates bill for the property. If you rent the property you must attach a copy of a water rates bill issued in your name or evidence it is paid by you.
  5. Only one rebate of $25 per property will be issued. The only exception will be corner blocks where it is evident the owner maintains two nature strips.
  6. In the case of units, flats or town houses if an application is received one rebate cheque will be issued to the strata secretary or body corporate regardless of who applies.
  7. Both lawn and planted nature strips are eligible. Concrete or paved areas are not eligible.
  8. Any nature strips which have received Council assistance or have been replaced within one (1) year prior to the closing date are not eligible.
  9. The nature strips of all applicants will be inspected. Trained horticultural staff will assess neatness, greenness, absence of weeds and grass coverage to determine eligibility for the rebate. The rebate will be awarded to applicants on the basis of all of these criteria being met.
  10. All successful applicants will receive a cheque around the end of the year or by direct bank deposit if preferred. All non-successful applicants will be advised in writing. Council’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
