Celebrating 21 years debt free

This year marks 21 years since the City of Botany Bay became debt free. Successive Council administrations have worked hard so that our Council is not only debt free but also continues to deliver a balanced budget every year. Being debt free means that the City of Botany Bay also has one of the lowest residential rates in the entire State making our City such an attractive place to live and do business. It also allows Council to upgrade our services, parks and roads with no added cost to our ratepayers.

Linear Park update

A delay in Sydney Water confirming a timeframe for their Building Plan Approval has delayed the start of this project. Council is working with Sydney Water to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Unfortunately these delays are out of Council’s control, however, once we have the information we will be ready to begin the work swiftly. Council is keen to see construction begin on this much sought after project for the residents of the Mascot Station Precinct. As matters progress I will keep residents updated.

Operational plan and budget

Council has prepared and adopted its Operational Plan, Budget, Revenue Policy and Fees and Charges to meet its responsibilities under the Local Government Act 1993. The Operational Plan 2016/17 outlines the projects, programs and activities that Council will undertake during the 2016/17 financial year. Residents can view the plan by visiting Council’s website here.

Seniors Photos

Just a reminder to any of our senior citizens who may have attended the Garden Party but have yet to get their photos printed. You still have time. Please visit the Mayoral Office at Westfield Eastgardens and the staff would be more than happy to help you out.

Engaging Adolescents.A workshop for parents

Maintaining positive and constructive channels of communication is one of the most important skills that adults must have when living with teenagers. This workshop aims to provide parents with effective tools and strategies in identifying normal and acceptable teenage behaviour; how to build positive, respectful relationships; and, how to manage challenging behaviour from your teenager. The workshop is being held on Saturday, 27 August 2016 from 9:15am to 3:30pm in the Conference Room in Eastgardens Library, Ground Floor, Westfields Eastgardens.
