Traffic Advisory Committee

The Botany Bay Traffic Committee operates under the delegation of the NSW Roads and Maritime Services to advise on traffic matters on local roads.

The Botany Bay City Council welcomes members of the public to attend and speak at Traffic Committee meetings. You can find out when the next meeting is scheduled at Upcoming Events or call Customer Service on 02 9366 3666.

The Committee considers the public concerns regarding traffic and parking on local streets and provides advice on new developments to measure and control impacts on traffic and parking.

The Traffic Committee generally meets at 9:30am on the first Monday of each month (except for January). The Agenda  is made available one week prior to the meeting and the Minutes  are posted one week after the meeting. 


The five permanent members of the Traffic Committee are representatives from:

Permanent Members vote on Traffic Committee recommendations and each vote has an equal weight. Non-voting members of the Traffic Committee include the State Transit Authority and Bikes Botany Bay. The Traffic Committee provides recommendation to the City Services Committee for discussion prior to deliberation by the Council.


Only permanent members have the right to appeal a decision.

Appeals must be lodged in writing to the Traffic Committee Members within 14 days of notification of the Council’s decision that relates to the recommendation to the Traffic Committee. Any action related to an issue under appeal must cease until the matter is determined.
