Lawn mowing
Our Free Pensioner Lawn Mowing Service aims to assist eligible residents remain independent and living in their own home by helping to reduce the annual cost of maintaining their lawns.

To be eligible for this service you must:

  • receive an aged pension or disability support pension
  • be physically unable to mow your lawn
  • not have any family members or other support to help you maintain you lawns
  • be the owner of part owner of the property or be in the private rental market and are responsible for the maintenance of the lawns.

Residents in public, social or community housing are ineligible for this service.

A Doctor’s Certificate is required to support your application.

Services are generally provided every eight to ten weeks, weather permitting.

Council reserves the right to refuse an application if the delivery of the service is likely to pose work, health and safety concerns for our staff.

Please contact our Aged Care Services Staff for an application form. Once we have received your completed application form, a staff member will be in contact with you to arrange a home visit to discuss your eligibility and, if your application is approved, to explain how the service operates.
